Implement specific test plans under the direction of the Lab Test Engineer.
Monitor tests that are being performed for performance.
Create and keep data log sheets for tests including photographs and detailed description of failures.
Work in conjunction with Engineering Shop Supervisor, Design Engineers, Lab and Field Test Leaders and team members preparing machines and prototypes for testing.
Perform maintenance on run up equipment and test apparatus.
Fabricate when required.
Apply strain gauges and other sensors as needed.
Calibrate test fixtures.
Write test reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Enrolled in (or graduated from) University Engineering or College Engineering Technology program.
Skills and Knowledge
Familiar in the operation of farm machinery.
Excellent communication skills; oral and written.
Proficient in Windows and Office Software.
Ability to use Digital camera equipment, email and video equipment to create reports.
Good interpersonal relations.
Good planning and administration abilities.
Ability to work in both team situations and independently.
Intuitive, self-motivated and hard working with lots of patience.
Extensive experience working with data acquisition systems, sensors and strain gauges.
Strong Mechanical abilities-experience with machinery repairs an asset.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical circuits – troubleshooting and repair experience an asset.
Welding/Oxy/Acetylene, MIG experience is an asset.
A farm background an asset.
Travel may be required.
