Lean and Systems Specialist

PURPOSE and SCOPE

As a key central support position within the Global Parts Operations team, the Lean and Systems Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of all Lean initiatives and common Systems across the Parts Distribution Center (PDC) network.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lean Methodology

  • Participate in the assessment, development, and execution of the Global Parts Lean Strategy.
  • Lead the process mapping, value stream mapping and identification of inefficiencies in PDC processes with a focus on facility layouts and material flows.
  • Develop training material and deliver education to employees and facility champions on basic and advanced lean methodologies and continuous improvement topics.
  • Serve as a catalyst to promote lean thinking and foster a lean culture throughout the Global PDC network.

Systems Management

  • Assess, develop and lead the standardization of systems and processes across the Global PDC network.
  • Champion and own the implementation and strategic administration of warehouse management systems’ (WMS) and transportation management systems’ (TMS) across all PDC locations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor standardized 5S, workplace organization (WPO) and audit programs across all PDC locations.
  • Develop and own the change management methodology for the Global Parts team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director, Global Parts Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Process Engineering, or related field.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification required, with Six Sigma Blackbelt certification being preferred.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated history of achieving lean transformation through value stream mapping, process mapping, 5-S, Kaizen events, Gemba walks, continuous improvement programs, and visual work elements.
  • Experience facilitating Executives and Senior Leaders on corporate-level lean initiatives and strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to drive decisions.
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced, dynamic, time sensitive environment.
  • Advanced organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with change management methodologies especially in large, cross functional projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
  • Experience with ERP, WMS and TMS systems considered an asset.
  • Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel.
