Manufacturing Engineer – Student 4 or 8 Month Term
Purpose and Scope
The Manufacturing Engineer Student will work with the Manufacturing Engineers to conduct time studies, review standards, improve processes, and improve tooling for weldments and assemblies. Term start date: May 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Support the manufacturing process in machine/fabrication, weld, assembly, and/or automation.
- Participate in continuous improvement events and utilize lean methodologies to identify and reduce waste.
- Conduct statistical Process Control and other statistical methods applicable to manufacturing.
- Perform time studies and maintain standard work times, work centers, and routings in the ERP system.
- Develop and maintain layouts, run-up CAD models, work instructions, tool lists, and build sequence (scripts) for various takt times and configurations.
- Assist in the requirements, development, and commissioning for jigs and fixtures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently studying Engineering or Engineering Technology in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Process Automation, Mechanical, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of CAD systems
- Experience with the principles and methods of lean manufacturing.
- Good computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
